Functional safety standard

Functional safety is the analysis of the whole life cycle of the product, and the necessity of functional safety should be considered in all aspects of design, manufacturing, use and maintenance. Among them, IEC 61508 is a globally recognized basic standard for functional safety in the industrial field and an important reference standard for key industries such as manufacturing, energy, water transport and railways.

ISO 26262 is a functional safety standard for the automotive industry based on the basic IEC 61508 functional safety standard, covering the whole life cycle of automotive products, including functional safety management, concept stage development, system stage development, hardware stage development, software stage development, support process, safety analysis, product reliability, product release and other links. Designed to minimize the risk of failure of a vehicle’s electrical or electronic systems. At present, ISO 26262 functional safety certification has become the “entry threshold” for electronic parts suppliers to enter the automotive industry.

iStarChip Semiconductor attaches great importance to product safety and reliability, in order to create an elite team of functional safety attention, familiar and everywhere practice,iStarChip Semiconductor recently successfully held ISO26262 and IEC61508 international certification standards training.

At the meeting, TÜV Rheinland assigned industry experts to give a comprehensive and systematic lecture to the iStarChip team, and iStarChip’s automotive functional safety related personnel from various domestic branches and subsidiaries participated in the training. During the training, everyone focused on asking questions and conducting in-depth discussions with experts, which laid a solid foundation for the future development and manufacture of in-vehicle products that meet functional safety.

This training is the first step of iStarChip’s functional safety efforts. iStarChip will take the highest safety standards as the requirements in the management process and product design, and continuously improve the management quality and product performance, so that customers can be assured and satisfied.
