On October 18, 2023, iStarChip Semiconductor was invited to Bosch’s headquarters in China for in-depth technical exchange and collaborative communication on the integration, software development, and component development of the new generation of key automotive IPs – GTM V4 and CAN-XL – in iStarChip ZPC high-performance automotive safety MCU.
Bosch attended the meeting, including the Global Technology and Product Director, Product Manager, CAN Technology Senior Expert (Chairman of CiA Standardization Organization) in the Integrated Circuits & Intelligent Property product field. iStarChip Semiconductor is led by the CEO and CTO, as well as colleagues from global chip design centers, software design centers, and application design centers who participate on-site and remotely. Both parties have made adequate preparations, whether on-line or off-line. During the meeting, everyone actively interacted and achieved more resonance and cooperation opportunities.
The Generic Timer IP module (GTM) is a scalable I/O coprocessor for automotive microcontrollers, which enables real-time implementation from μ C kernel uninstalled to a special I/O coprocessor with a large number of parallel threading capabilities. GTM is widely used in the automotive industry, it ensures accurate multi-input data acquisition and multi-output signal generation in automotive powertrain and active safety applications, or in industrial closed-loop applications.
CAN XL provides a superior solution for data rates up to 20Mbit/s by maintaining the advantages of the CAN protocol like collision-resolution by non-destructive arbitration. Large data fields with up to 2048 byte enable the use of higher layer protocols like IP (Internet Protocol) and even the tunneling of complete Ethernet frames.
Introduction to ZPC series: iStarChip is based on advanced manufacturing processes and self-developed functional safety architecture for automotive MCUs. It applies the latest multi-core heterogeneous architecture, including CPU/DSP/NPU, with a frequency range of 600Mhz~1GHz and performance coverage of 6000DMIPS~12000DMIPS. It is applied in the new generation of automotive electronic and electrical architecture, power chassis domain, domain control/area controller, and other fields.
As a technology leader in the automotive industry, Bosch’s IP product portfolio GTM and CAN holds an important position in component applications. iStarChip looks forward to applying Bosch’s key technologies in product arrays in the future, in order to provide value to customers, and continue to collaborate with Bosch to create updated technical solutions.
