iStarChip Semiconductor conducted an internal auditor training for the three systems in early October, and the ISO14001 sparked a heated discussion. Colleagues from various regions actively participated in the training, learning and researching this internationally recognized environmental management system standard. This training was not only a transfer of knowledge, but also a deep cultivation of environmental culture and dissemination of green concepts within the company.

After the training, the environmental awareness of our team continued to increase, and the office was full of energy and vitality. Our team deepened their understanding of environmental protection concepts and understood how to practice environmental compliance and energy conservation and emission reduction in the management process. In order to further strengthen the sustainable development of the company, iStarChip Semiconductor has formulated a green office action plan.

Developing environmental protection systems: iStarChip has formulated a series of environmental management systems, clarifying the responsibilities and obligations of each department in terms of environmental protection. At the same time, every employee is encouraged to actively participate in environmental protection actions.

Energy conservation and emission reduction:

iStarChip promoted paperless office work to reduce paper waste; advocated for double-sided printing to save paper; reasonably utilized waste and encouraged resource recycling and reuse; reminded employees to turn off electrical equipment in a timely manner to save electricity, ect.

Green procurement:

While iStarChip is thriving, it needs to continuously expand its office space. Prioritize is given to the selection of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient office equipment, such as energy-saving lighting fixtures, low volatile organic compound (VOC) office furniture, etc. Additionally, the company has also implemented centralized management for office supplies procurement to ensure reasonable allocation of resource and encourage employees to use renewable energy and green stationery items, such as distributing reusable coffee cups, environmentally friendly pens, etc., to reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Garbage classification: The company has set up garbage classification and disposal points in the office to guide employees to correctly classify and dispose of garbage. Especially for the classification and collection of hazardous waste and recyclable materials, sorting bins are provided to reduce environmental pollution.

Green travel:

iStarChip adopted flexible working hours and encouraged employees to use low-carbon transportation methods such as public transportation, cycling, and walking, etc. to commute and reduce the use of private cars in order to reduce carbon emissions.

Popularization of environmental protection knowledge:

iStarChip will regularly organize environmental protection knowledge themed activities to improve employees’ environmental awareness and skills. Through publicity and education, employees are made aware of the importance of protecting the environment and actively participate in environmental actions.

External cooperation:

iStarChip specially invited senior experts as training lectures to jointly carry out environmental protection activities. Through cooperation and communication, we learned from the excellent experience and practices of other enterprises in environmental protection to continuously improve the company’s environmental management level.
